About Us

History

In November of 1972 the Yarnell Water Improvement Association, an Arizona Member owned nonprofit co-operative corporation, was formed under Title 10, Chapter 1, Article 16 of the Arizona Revised Statutes and Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(12).


 In April, 1974 a franchise was awarded by the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors and a Certificate of Convenience & Necessity was granted by the Arizona Corporation Commission, Utilities Division for the Yarnell Water Company, Yarnell Water Improvement Association to provide water to consumers in the Yarnell service area.


The Association is governed by a Board Directors elected from the Members.  Election for Directors is held in March of each year.  The elected Directors select Officers at their first regular meeting following elections.  Directors and Officers serve the Association as volunteers.
